Mr. Orr is a partner in the New York office of Morrison & Foerster. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation with a primary emphasis on securities, antitrust, mergers & acquisitions, product liability, environmental and insurance litigation. He has tried over thirty cases in his career, principally on behalf of defendants but occasionally for plaintiffs. He has won over $200 million in verdicts and awards on behalf of plaintiffs and counterclaim defendants.

For the last three years, Mr. Orr has been named by Chambers as one of the top lawyers in New York and in 1997, he was named by the National Law Journal as one of the nation's top trial lawyers. He is also included in Who’s Who in American Law and, in 2006, was chosen by his fellow lawyers as one of The Best Lawyers in America. Mr. Orr is a faculty member in the “Business Litigation” video series produced by the American Bar Association, Practising Law Institute and the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and is also a faculty member in numerous seminars and programs sponsored by the Practising Law Institute on trial practice and procedures and negotiation techniques.

Mr. Orr is a member of the New York bar and is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, Third Circuit, and Eleventh Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the District of Colorado.

Prior to joining Morrison and Foerster, Mr. Orr was a partner in the New York office of Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP and before that was a partner at Shearman & Sterling in New York.

• Mr. Orr currently represents ten current and former officers and directors of a leading international insurance organization in the securities and derivative lawsuits pending in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and the Delaware Chancery Court.
• Mr. Orr represented a leading professional services organization in a series of fraud and negligence cases arising from the failure of a consulting firm specializing in semiconductor packaging and its U.S. affiliate, a sewing industry giant.
• Mr. Orr served as lead trial counsel for defendants-counterclaimants, a full service bank, a financial services company and others in a fraud and breach of contract action. After a five-week trial, judgment of $23,289,107.47,
• including attorneys’ fees, virtually the entire sum sought, was entered in favor of Mr. Orr’s clients.
• Mr. Orr served as lead trial counsel for a chocolate and confectionery manufacturer in a breach of contract and intellectual property case, which relates to the manufacture of a well-known bubblegum in Latin America.
• Mr. Orr represents several issuer-defendants in a major securities fraud litigation and is a member of the Issuers’ Committee.
