Mr. Engelhardt is a partner in the New York office of Morrison & Foerster. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation on behalf of foreign and domestic commercial and financial entities. Mr. Engelhardt has particular experience in cases involving antitrust, commercial fraud, commercial contract, trade secrets, and insurance coverage litigation and arbitration.
Mr. Engelhardt is a member of the New York bar. He is admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, United States District Court for the Southern District and Eastern District of New York.
Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Mr. Engelhardt was a partner in the New York office of Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP.
Representative Matters
- Mr. Engelhardt was lead trial counsel in an arbitration bringing insurance claims exceeding $100 million against a leading
insurance organization relating to loans on high-end medical equipment in Latin American countries.
- Mr. Engelhardt was lead trial counsel in an action brought by a bankruptcy debtor relating to a purchase option for a large
commercial property located in Miami, Florida.
- Mr. Engelhardt represented an international soft drink company as lead trial counsel in commercial contract action relating
to the value and use of “countertrade credits” generated in the former Soviet Union.
- Mr. Engelhardt represented a leading brand developer in an antitrust action bringing allegations of monopolization and franchise
act violations in various ice cream product markets in the mid-Atlantic states. He currently represents that client in litigation
alleging breaches of an ice cream distribution agreement.
- Mr. Engelhardt represented an independent financial services organization in an action for commercial fraud and breach of contract relating to a receivables purchase trust agreement. Following an 18-day arbitration hearing, the arbitrator rendered an award in favor of Mr. Engelhardt’s client in excess of $19 million.
