Gary S. Lee is a partner in and co-chair of the Bankruptcy and Restructuring Group in the New York office of Morrison & Foerster LLP. For the past 17 years he has been involved in domestic and international restructuring and insolvency matters in the United States, arising particularly out of corporate and insurance company insolvencies.

Mr. Lee represents financial institutions in domestic and cross-border work-outs and insolvencies. He is currently involved in several hedge fund and insurance company cases. Mr. Lee has been heavily involved in the implementation of foreign liquidations and schemes of arrangement in the U.S. and has been closely involved with issues arising under Chapter 15 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.

Gary is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the New York State Bar Association. He is a member of the City Bar's Insurance Law Committee and the former Co-Chair of its Insolvency Subcommittee. He is currently Co-Chair of the Transnational Bankruptcy Committee of the International Insolvency Institute. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, where he previously served as Vice Chairman of the Litigation Committee of the Young Lawyers Division. He is Fellow of the American Bar Association and is cited in Euromoney's Guide to the World's Leading Lawyers . He also served on the American Bankruptcy Institute’s International Insolvency Committee.

He received his law degree with honours from Manchester University, England. Mr. Lee is admitted to practice before the courts of New York and U.S. federal courts, and as a solicitor in the U.K.
