Kimberly Van Voorhis is a partner in the Intellectual Property Group in the Palo Alto office of Morrison & Foerster. Ms. Van Voorhis’ practice focuses primarily on the litigation and trial of patent, trademark, copyright, and complex technology-related cases in state and federal courts, as well as before the International Trade Commission and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Ms. Van Voorhis worked at Pooley & Oliver, Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, and Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich, specializing in intellectual property litigation.

In addition to handling complex litigation and pre-litigation analysis in technologies such as DNA electrophoresis, graphics accelerators, host software modems and software emulation systems, Ms. Van Voorhis has extensive experience before the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board and in the areas of ICANN domain name disputes and anti-cybersquatting. She has also worked closely with major software publishers to develop and manage anti-piracy programs.

Ms. Van Voorhis received her B.S. in biological sciences from the University of California, Irvine and her J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. She is an active member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Bay Area Bioscience Center. She is also a member of the bar of California and is admitted to practice before many federal district courts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
