Ms Kaufman is a patent attorney in the Palo Alto office of Morrison & Foerster LLP specializing in preparation and prosecution of patent applications in medical devices. Her practice also includes due diligence and freedom to operate review.

Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster LLP, Ms. Kaufman worked closely with U.S., Canadian, and European start-up companies to develop patent strategies and begin building IP portfolios based on a variety of technologies.

Ms Kaufman has a Bachelors of Science degree in Bioelectrical Engineering from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She earned her law degree at Santa Clara University School of Law where she was a technical editor of The Computer and High Technology Law Journal and managing editor of The Advocate. She also earned a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law.

Ms Kaufman is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
