Karen Kubin defends employers in class actions and other complex employment litigation alleging wage and hour violations, discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, trade secret theft, ERISA violations, and retaliation under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other whistleblower laws. She has broad jury and bench trial experience in both federal and state courts. She is also experienced in domestic and international arbitrations.

Ms. Kubin has built a substantial client roster by being attentive to her clients' needs and by delivering results. For the past several years, she has been doggedly combating wage and hour class actions and has an unbroken record of defeating class certification in these cases, including actions based on lost pay for meal and rest breaks.

Her client list spans an array of industries, including consumer products, computer software and hardware, financial services, life sciences, restaurant, retail, and transportation.

Ms. Kubin was named by the Daily Journal as one of California's Top Women Litigators in 2007, and again in 2008, as well as one of California's Top 100 Lawyers in 2009. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the San Francisco Bar Association, and the California State Bar's section on labor and employment law. She also serves as a mediator and neutral evaluator on employment cases for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

Ms. Kubin was elected to Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Washington.  While attending law school, Ms. Kubin was elected to Order of the Coif and was a Managing Editor of the Hastings Law Journal. Ms. Kubin served as extern in 1976 to the Honorable Raymond L. Sullivan, associate justice on the California Supreme Court.
