Mr. Levine was born in Paterson, New Jersey, in 1957. He received his B.A. degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1979 and his J.D. degree from New York University School of Law in 1982. Mr. Levine joined Morrison & Foerster in 1988 and became a partner in the firm in 1993. Mr. Levine currently heads the Real Estate Group in the firm’s Palo Alto office.

As a real estate lawyer, Mr. Levine has substantial experience representing real estate developers in all aspects of the development process. He counsels clients in large-scale acquisitions and dispositions, in leasing retail, industrial and office space as well as research and development facilities, and in structuring joint ventures. He has negotiated substantial financing transactions, including construction and permanent lending and synthetic leases. He has represented individual developers, REITs, pension funds, domestic institutions and foreign investors.

Mr. Levine is active in local real estate organizations, is a past member of the NAIOP National Forums and has served on the Board of Directors of the Silicon Valley Chapter of NACORE. He is listed in the Best Lawyers in America 2008 in the specialty of Real Estate law and has been listed as a Northern California "Super Lawyer" since 2004 and as one of Silicon Valley's "Top Attorneys". Mr. Levine is also on the Board of Directors of the Greater San Francisco Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Levine is licensed to practice law in California, New York and New Jersey
