Mr. Stusiak was born in Berkeley, California, in 1957. He graduated summa cum laude from California State University, Fresno, in 1985, and received his Juris Doctor in 1989 from the University of California, Davis. Mr. Stusiak associated with the firm in 1989 and was elected to the partnership in 1997. He is a member of the firm’s litigation department and resident in the firm’s Sacramento, California, office. Mr. Stusiak is admitted to practice before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Court in the Central, Eastern, Northern, and Southern Districts of California.

Mr. Stusiak is a member of the American Bar Association, the Sacramento County Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers. He is the co-author of An Overview of Bankruptcy Issues Affecting Partnerships , a Morrison & Foerster publication presented at the 1991 California Bankruptcy Forum Annual Meeting. In 2004, Mr. Stusiak was listed as a Northern Cailfornia “Super Lawyer” in the San Francisco Magazine.

Mr. Stusiak has represented parties in matters including commercial disputes (including bankruptcy proceedings), land use and environmental disputes, and mass-tort products liability litigation. Notable representations in which Mr. Stusiak has participated include Morrison & Foerster LLP’s defense of Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company in nationwide breast implant products liability litigation and the post-arbitration defense of Kyocera Corporation as reported in La Pine Technology Corp. v. Kyocera Corp. , 130 F.3d 884 (9th Cir. 1997). Mr. Stusiak has extensive experience litigating commercial contract disputes and disputes concerning distressed commercial real estate and related lender liability claims. His practice presently focuses on complex litigation concerning intellectual property rights, lender liability claims, and other contract and tort claims involving commercial enterprises. Mr. Stusiak has represented parties in the successful resolution of matters through trial, appellate, and alternative dispute resolution procedures.
