Mr. Cops is a member of the Financial Transaction Group in Morrison & Foerster’s Los Angeles office. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993 from Duke University and his J.D. in 1996 from the UCLA School of Law. While at UCLA, Mr. Cops served as an Articles Editor of the UCLA Pacific Basin Law Journal .

Mr. Cops’ practice covers a variety of areas, including all types of secured and unsecured commercial lending, asset-based lending, letter of credit transactions, syndicated credit transactions, workouts and restructurings, securitizations, motion picture finance, mergers and acquisitions and other general corporate and business matters. Mr. Cops represents a large number of financial institutions as well as borrowers from all major industries. He is experienced in the preparation and negotiating of complex and diverse documentation, including all types of secured credit documentation, securitization documentation, all forms of merger and acquisition documents, and credit restructuring agreements.

Mr. Cops is an active member of the California Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Financial Lawyers Conference. Mr. Cops currently serves on the Uniform Commercial Code Committee of the State Bar of California. He also provides legal counsel, pro bono , to Athena Theatre, a non-profit community theatre organization
