Mary Hansbury is a senior associate in the Employment and Labor Practice Group of Morrison & Foerster, resident in the San Francisco office.

Mary’s law practice concentrates on representing management in employment matters. She has successfully defended employers in litigation of claims including discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, sexual harassment, and violations of wage and hour law. She also provides counseling to both small start-up companies and large institutional corporations on a variety of issues, including wage and hour law, wrongful discharge, employment discrimination, and disability, medical and family leaves of absence. Mary also specializes in the litigation of claims regarding trade secrets, employee raiding, and unfair competition.

Mary is a member of the Labor and Employment Law sections of the California State Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and the Bar Association of San Francisco. She is also a member of the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California and the Asian American Bar Association.

As an undergraduate, Mary attended Georgetown University, where she received her B.S. degree in Foreign Service with honors in 1994. Mary received her J.D. degree from Hastings College of the Law in 1997. While at Hastings, she served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Marilyn Hall Patel of the Northern District of California. Ms. Hansbury was the Senior Articles Editor for the Hastings International and Comparative Law Journal, where she published Affirming Our Common Humanity: Regulating Landmines to Protect Civilians and Children in the Developing World, 20 HASTINGS INT’L & COMP. L. REV. 135 (1996).
