Samantha Goodman is a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Morrison & Foerster. Her practice includes a range of complex commercial litigation in both state and federal courts.

Ms. Goodman is a member of the Employment and Labor Practice Group and has experience representing and advising clients regarding a number of labor and employment law issues, including wrongful termination, employment discrimination, harassment, wage and hour laws, employment policies and procedures, and unfair competition. Ms. Goodman has represented numerous employers in state law wage and hour class actions. She has also conducted in-house training sessions regarding compliance with California and federal employment laws, including California’s required supervisor sexual harassment training.

Ms. Goodman’s practice also focuses on unfair business practice issues and consumer class actions. She has defended putative class action claims against businesses under California’s Unfair Competition law and the Consumer Legal Remedies Act arising from advertising, methods of competition, and sales tax collection.

Ms. Goodman was presented with the ACLU Foundation of Southern California Racial Justice Award in 2006 and the Los Angeles County Bar Association Honorable Benjamin Aranda III Outstanding Public Service Award in 2001.

Ms. Goodman received her J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 1998, where she was a member of the Law Review and Chief Articles Editor of the Women’s Law Journal. She received her A.B. in English from Princeton University in 1995.
