Mark T. Gillett has extensive experience representing bank and non-bank companies that offer financial products and services, including lenders in the credit card, automobile finance, and other consumer credit fields. He also works with non-financial companies whose businesses are affected by consumer credit laws, companies who collect or use information that is subject to state or federal privacy laws, and companies who businesses involve the use of comsumer credit reports. Mr. Gillett also assists bank and non-bank financial services companies in examinations, civil investigations, and formal and informal enforcement actions by state and federal banking agencies and the FTC. In January 2003, the California Commissioner of Corporations appointed him to a two-year term on a seven-member Advisory Committee to advise the Commissioner on recommendations for changes in the California Finance Lenders Law.

Mr. Gillett also frequently assists domestic and foreign banks and other financial services companies in outsourcing agreements; joint ventures and similar arrangements; acquisitions and mergers; the establishment of new FDIC-insured institutions; the purchase, sale, and liquidation of branches and other partial business units and lines of business; and the development of new products and services.
