Ms. Reed is a real estate partner and a firmwide Managing Partner at Morrison & Foerster, resident in the San Francisco and Walnut Creek offices.

Ms. Reed’s real estate practice is dedicated primarily to commercial and development real estate transactions of all types, including acquisition and disposition, joint ventures, ground and occupancy leases, project financing, syndication, development work, construction and permanent lending, workouts, and all aspects of residential subdivision, condominium, and apartment developments. Ms. Reed has represented major national and international developers and lending institutions in investment and financing activities for real property developments throughout Northern California, including downtown San Francisco, as well as other locations in the United States. She has represented both landlords and tenants in negotiating major leases for commercial and retail space in San Francisco and elsewhere in California and had primary responsibility for the initial leasing of the 1,370,000-square-foot office and retail complex known as the Crocker Center in San Francisco.

Ms. Reed is a past President of the Contra Costa Council, Contra Costa County’s major business organization dedicated to economic development. She previously served on the Citizens’ Advisory Council to the East Bay Municipal Utility District in connection with its formulation of a thirty-year Water Supply Management Plan and the Contra Costa County Charter commission. Ms. Reed is a member of the California State and American Bar Associations and the Contra Costa County Bar Association. She is a former member of the Executive Committee of the Real Property Section of the California State Bar. Since 2004, she’s been listed in the San Francisco Magazine as one of Northern California’s “Super Lawyers” in Real Estate Law.

Ms. Reed was born in Brockport, New York, and received her A.B. degree in 1973 and her M.A. degree in 1974 from the University of California at Irvine, and her J.D. degree in 1981 from the University of California at Berkeley. Ms. Reed became associated with Morrison & Foerster in 1981, becoming a partner in 1987.
