Ms. Taylor was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. She attended The George Washington University where she received her B.A. degree with honors in International Affairs, with a specialization in East Asia, in 1986. She received her J.D. degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1991, where she was a Note Editor for the Michigan Journal of International Law. Following graduation, she attended the Inter-University Center in Yokohama, Japan, where she studied Japanese. Ms. Taylor became associated with Morrison & Foerster in 1992 and was elected to the partnership in Fall 1999.

Ms. Taylor is engaged in a broad intellectual property practice, with an emphasis in intellectual property litigation and counseling. She has litigated a variety of intellectual property cases, including patent, trademark, and copyright infringement actions, as well as unfair competition and false advertising actions. Her cases have included litigation of patents directed to integrated circuits and a wide range of processes used in the semiconductor industry and to medical apparatuses, as well as trademarks relating to apparel, motorcycles, batteries, computers, the Internet, multimedia, and consumer products. Ms. Taylor has trial and appellate experience, as well as extensive experience litigating opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

In addition to litigation, Ms. Taylor regularly counsels clients regarding trademark and copyright matters, including registering trademarks and service marks and copyrights, managing portfolios, policing efforts to protect trademarks and copyrights, and advising clients on licensing arrangements. She has also counseled clients regarding intellectual property and liability issues related to the Internet. Among companies that Ms. Taylor has represented in litigation are Blue Marlin Corp., Indian Motorcycle Corporation, Calera Wine Company; PC Mall, Inc., SpaMedica, The Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation, and Praxair Distribution, Inc.

Ms. Taylor is a member of the California Bar, and of the Bar Association of San Francisco.
