Ms. White’s practice focuses on securities matters. She has represented public companies and their officers and directors in class actions and derivative suits. She has also conducted internal investigations on behalf of corporate boards. She has represented clients in the software, semiconductor, entertainment, medical device, insurance, and telecommunications industries, as well as a variety of other industries.
Ms. White’s recent victories include:
- Olagues v. Semel, No. 07-15202, 2007 U.S. App. LEXIS 18358, at *1 (9th Cir. July 27, 2007) (affirming dismissal of §16b suit against Yahoo! officer).
- Jacobs v. Yang, No. 206-N, 2004 Del. Ch. LEXIS 117 (Del. Ch. Aug. 2, 2004), aff’d, 2005 Del. LEXIS 38 (Del. Jan. 21, 2005) (affirming dismissal of derivative suit filed against Yahoo! officers);
- In re Yahoo Derivative Litig., No. CIV-437385, San Mateo Superior Court. Plaintiffs dismissed derivative case with prejudice with no payment to plaintiffs.
- Myeary v. ONI Systems, Inc., No. CIV806192, Santa Clara Superior Court. Plaintiffs dismissed case with prejudice with no payment to plaintiffs.
She has recently represented the following companies and/or their officers and directors in securities matters:

- Yahoo! Inc.
- JDS Uniphase Corporation
- Oracle Corporation
- ONI Systems, Inc. and CIENA Corporation
- The Special Litigation Committee of Cisco Systems, Inc.

- The Chalone Wine Group, Inc.
Ms. White speaks to various organizations about securities and related issues, and has published articles on these topics. She has also authored or co-authored articles on securities issues.
In addition to securities matters, Ms. White’s experience includes complex civil litigation involving insurance coverage, venture funding, business tort, breach of contract, theft of trade secrets, technology licensing, and patent infringement issues.
Ms. White is also currently a firm-wide Managing Partner of Operations. She has also held other management positions at the firm, including head of the litigation group in Palo Alto.
Personal Experience
Ms. White received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1985, with honors in her major. She received her J.D. degree from Stanford University School of Law in 1992, graduating with distinction. Ms. White joined Morrison & Foerster in 1992 and became a partner in the Litigation Department in 2000. Before attending law school, Ms. White was a Peace Corps volunteer in Cameroon, Central Africa. Ms. White enjoys spending time with her two daughters.
