Ms. White’s practice focuses on securities matters. She has represented public companies and their officers and directors in class actions and derivative suits. She has also conducted internal investigations on behalf of corporate boards. Ms. White has represented clients in the software, semiconductor, entertainment, medical device, insurance and telecommunications industries, as well as a variety of other industries.

In addition to securities matters, Ms. White’s experience has included complex civil litigation involving insurance coverage, venture funding, theft of trade secrets, technology licensing and patent infringement issues.

Ms. White joined Morrison & Foerster’s Palo Alto office as an associate in the Litigation Department in 1992 and became a partner in 2000. She became the head of Palo Alto litigation in 2005.



Representative Matters
  • Oracle Corporation shareholder derivative suit in San Mateo Superior Court and Delaware Chancery Court.

  • Negotiated a $30.6 million damage award on behalf of Altera Corporation against Clear Logic in mask work infringement and interference with contract case in federal court. This case is currently on appeal in the Ninth Circuit.

  • Negotiated a successful settlement for Deutsche Telekom, Inc. in federal court case involving a dispute over a venture funding agreement.

  • Yahoo! Inc. shareholder derivative suit in San Mateo Superior Court and Delaware Chancery Court.

  • ONI Systems, Inc. and CIENA Corporation shareholders’ breach of fiduciary duty case in Santa Clara Superior Court concerning ONI’s merger with CIENA Corporation.
