Scott McPhee is a partner and a member of the firm's international Real Estate Practice Group. Mr. McPhee's practice covers a broad range of real estate and finance transactions, with a particular emphasis on capital markets (CMBS) financing, mezzanine and other subordinate loans, syndicated credit facilities, loan repurchase and warehouse facilities, and construction lending. He has represented various lenders, investors, and property owners in connection with the financing, acquisition, disposition, and development of various property types (including office, retail/commercial, single-family and multi-family developments, raw land, industrial facilities, hotels and resorts, golf courses, condominium projects, and mixed-use projects) and in connection with the work-out of troubled loans. Mr. McPhee also regularly advises clients in connection with the formation of joint ventures, tax-deferred exchanges, disposition and development agreements with municipalities, and the financability of ground leases. Mr. McPhee has developed particular expertise in all aspects of capital markets financing (including originating, purchasing, and selling securitized mortgage loans and related subordinate and mezzanine tranches) having served as the senior in-house counsel for Countrywide Commercial Real Estate Finance, Inc. from 2004 to 2006. Mr. McPhee rejoined the firm in 2006 and practices in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
