Howard Soloway is senior counsel in the litigation department Morrison & Foerster’s Los Angeles office. Mr. Soloway is an experienced trial lawyer, having tried numerous cases involving such matters as securities law, breach of contract, unfair competition, trademark infringement, real estate, employment issues, and environmental law. His various clients have included high-profile entertainment, media, healthcare and real estate entities. In addition, Mr. Soloway is skilled in arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Mr. Soloway received his A.B. degree in 1968 from the University of California, Berkeley, and his J.D. in 1971 from Harvard Law School. Upon graduation, he clerked for a year for the Honorable William P. Gray, U.S. District Judge for the Central District of California before joining the UCLA School of Law faculty in 1972. A year later, Mr. Soloway began his practice as an associate at Ball, Hunt, Hart, Brown & Baerwitz, becoming a partner in 1977. In 1984, he joined the partnership of Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine LLP, where he practiced until joining Morrison & Foerster in 1998.

Mr. Soloway is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is active in other professional associations. He is a member of the Board of Overseers of the Hebrew Union College, affiliated with the University of Southern California, and is a Founder and Overseer of the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.
