Christopher L. Russell's practice focuses on corporate and securities matters, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and corporate financings, formation of limited liability companies, venture capital funds and other investment partnerships, corporate restructurings, federal and state securities law compliance, and general corporate and securities counseling of public and private companies.

Mr. Russell regularly advises start-up and emerging growth private companies, life science companies, public companies, institutional investors in their investments in venture capital, venture capital funds, general and limited partners, shareholders and boards of directors.

Mr. Russell is a member of the Board of Directors of the Sacramento Area Regional Technology Alliance (SARTA) and a member of the Executive Committee of the Sacramento Chapter of the American Electronics Association.

• Represented a venture fund in its investments in 9 portfolio companies.
• Advised management of a software company in the sale of substantially all of its intellectual property to Intuit, Inc., the license-back of portion of that intellectual property to the company and the subsequent investment by Intuit in the company.
• Advised the general partner in the formation of a $100 million investment partnership.
• Assisted a pharmaceutical company in its $160 million initial public offering.
