John J. McCarthy, Jr. is a partner in the Real Estate Department of Morrison & Foerster LLP. He has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate transactions, including financing, development, sales and acquisitions, leasing, sale-leaseback transactions, commercial mortgage-backed securities transactions, loan restructurings and partnership matters. Recent transactions include the representation of The Bank of New York as the agent for a syndicate of banks in connection with the construction financing for Four Times Square, Five Times Square, Time Square Towers and River Place I in New York, representation of The Chase Manhattan Bank in connection with numerous syndicated credit facilities, including credit facilities for various real estate-related investment funds, representation of General Electric Credit Corporation in connection with the establishment of a syndicated lending program, representation of various investment banks in connection with numerous multi-state loans and the establishment of conduit loan programs, including the preparation of standardized loan documentation for all aspects of such programs.

Mr. McCarthy is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (A.B., 1967) and Fordham University Law School (J.D., 1970).
