Mr. Katzin is a partner in Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco office, and a member of the firm’s Litigation Department. He has a diverse practice that includes handling a wide variety of consumer class actions, securities fraud litigation, contract and business tort claims, and healthcare litigation. Mr. Katzin has handled litigation matters pending before state and federal trial and appellate courts, as well as before arbitration tribunals.

Mr. Katzin was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, in 1964. He received his A.B. degree in economics and political science in 1986 from the University of North Carolina — Chapel Hill. He received his J.D. degree from the University of Chicago Law School in 1989. Mr. Katzin began his career in the San Francisco office of Bronson, Bronson & McKinnon, where he was an associate from 1989 to 1996, and a partner from 1997 to 1999.

Mr. Katzin is a member of the Litigation Sections of the State Bar of California and the Bar Association of San Francisco, and a member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers. He has published articles regarding settlement and liability allocation in securities fraud actions.

Mr. Katzin is also an active member of the San Francisco legal community. He served as the Co-Chair and a director of Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom, provides pro bono legal services through the AIDS Legal Referral Panel, and has received the State Bar’s Wiley E. Manual Award for his contribution of pro bono legal services.
