Dorothy Fernandez is a partner in the Securities Litigation and White-Collar Defense Group in the San Francisco office of Morrison & Foerster LLP. Ms. Fernandez’s practice emphasizes securities class action work. She has defended numerous issuers and related parties in shareholder lawsuits. She also has experience representing clients in derivative actions, SEC investigations, and in complex civil litigation. Her experience crosses a broad range of fields, including manufacturing, telecommunications, and consumer products.
The following is a representative sample of the corporations and/or their officers and directors that Ms. Fernandez has represented while at Morrison & Foerster: ADAC Corporation, Burnham Pacific Properties, Inc., The Clorox Company, Covad Communications Group, Inc., Flextronics International Ltd., Hybrid Networks, McKesson Corporation, Merant PLC, and Organic, Inc.
Ms. Fernandez graduated with an A.B. from Stanford University in 1992 and received her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1996. While in law school, she was a member of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review and was the Co-Chair of HLS Lambda. Ms. Fernandez formerly served on the Board of Directors of Pride Law Fund.
Ms. Fernandez is a member of the California Bar.
