Jonathan Bockman is an associate in the Northern Virginia office of Morrison & Foerster LLP. His practice includes patent prosecution, client counseling, patent infringement and validity determinations, patent landscaping, and litigation support. Mr. Bockman has prepared and prosecuted patent applications on a wide variety of technologies. With respect to the chemical and biological arts, he has represented clients involved in polymers, semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and high throughput biological screening. With respect to other technical arts, Mr. Bockman has represented clients involved with the internet and financial sectors.
Mr. Bockman received his B.S. in chemical engineering from Cornell University in 1997. He received his J.D. from the University of Colorado College of Law in 2000, where he was an Associate Editor of the University of Colorado Law Review. During law school, Mr. Bockman was a judicial intern for Justice Michael Bender of the Colorado Supreme Court. In addition, Mr. Bockman interned for the United States Attorney’s Office in both the civil and criminal divisions.
Mr. Bockman is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Mr. Bockman has been a committee chairperson and member of the Federal Circuit Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, American Bar Association, and the Colorado, Virginia and District of Columbia Bar Associations.
