Nicole Smith is an intellectual property lawyer in the firm's Los Angeles office where her practice focuses on patent litigation. She also has considerable experience in litigating trademark, copyright, trade secret, and related intellectual property matters.

Ms. Smith is proficient in Spanish and has a working knowledge of Portuguese gained from study and business travel in Spain, Mexico, Venezuela and Brazil.

Before joining Morrison & Foerster, Ms. Smith was an associate with Graham & James LLP, and was previously associated with the Chicago office of the law firm of Gardner, Carton & Douglas.

• While at Graham & James, Ms. Smith was a member of the trial team in a notable patent infringement case where a $70 million verdict was returned for the client.
