Mr. Sherman was born in White Plains, New York, in 1942. He is a graduate of Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, and received his B.A. degree from Princeton University in 1964. From 1964 to 1969, he served on active duty as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force. In 1972, he received his M.B.A. degree from the Haas School of Business and his J.D. degree from Boalt Hall, both at the University of California at Berkeley.

Mr. Sherman specializes in corporate and corporate securities practice. He currently serves as a co-chair for the Public Companies Group. He has acted as counsel for both underwriters and companies in connection with approximately 250 public offerings. His work involves regular contact with the staffs of the Division of Corporation Finance, Division of Market Regulation, and the Office of the General Counsel of the Securities and Exchange Commission. He is experienced in the qualification of stock offerings with the various state securities commissions and has broad experience in the offering review procedures of the National Association of Securities Dealers.

He has been a member of the Federal Regulation of Securities Committee and the State Regulation of Securities Committee of the American Bar Association’s Section of Business Law. He was a charter member of the Young Lawyers’ Federal Securities Law Committee, and has served as the Chair of the Corporations Committee of the Barrister’s Club of the Bar Association of San Francisco. He is a lecturer in the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley and has regularly lectured on numerous panels designed for lawyers and business people interested in practical solutions to the business, legal, and accounting problems of developing companies.

Mr. Sherman was also recommended by the 2006 PLC Which Lawyer? Yearbook for Corporate/ Mergers & Acquisitions law.
