Ken Brakebill is engaged in a general commercial litigation practice and has extensive trial experience in federal and state court.
Mr. Brakebill has been involved in a broad array of complex litigation matters, predominantly intellectual property disputes, and also a range of other matters including securities, construction, insurance coverage and consumer class actions. He has represented a number of high-technology clients in the areas of semiconductor chip design, semiconductor chip manufacturing, computer networking and enterprise infrastructure software.
Mr. Brakebill received his undergraduate degree, with Honors, in 1991 from Stanford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar Finalist. He received his J.D. degree from the University of California, Hastings, in 1997, after completing his third year of law school at Harvard Law School.
Mr. Brakebill joined Morrison & Foerster in 1998 after serving for one year as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert G. Flanders, Jr., of the Rhode Island Supreme Court.
Representative Matters
- Won unanimous jury verdict and secured $36 million judgment and permanent injunction for Silicon Valley semiconductor chip designer, in the United States District Court, Northern District of California
- Won $5 million arbitration award for Silicon Valley semiconductor equipment manufacturer
- Successfully defended Silicon Valley semiconductor chip designer in patent infringement action brought by its principal competitor
