Peter J. Yim is a partner in the San Francisco office. Mr. Yim’s practice concentrates on domestic and international patent prosecution, intellectual property strategic planning, technology licensing, and technology litigation support. Additionally, he provides intellectual property support and analysis for clients involved in public offerings, financings, mergers and acquisitions, and other related transactions. Mr. Yim has written and prosecuted patents in a wide range of technology areas, including computer software and hardware, computer-network systems, debit and smart card systems, electronic-commerce systems, medical devices, holography, semiconductor wafer processing and manufacturing systems, semiconductor chip and device manufacturing and packaging systems, voice-over-IP systems, vibration suppression systems, and Wi-Fi systems. Before entering the legal profession, he worked as an engineer at W. L. Gore & Associates, a systems analyst/programmer at Boeing, and a computer programmer at the Federal Aviation Administration. Mr. Yim received his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle, Washington in 1997. He received his Master’s in International Management (equivalent to an M.B.A.) from Thunderbird: The Garvin Graduate School of International Management in Glendale, Arizona in 1994. Mr. Yim received his B.S. in engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1993. He is admitted to practice in California, Arizona, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
