Takamitsu Fujiu is an associate in the Northern Virginia office of Morrison & Foerster LLP. Prior to becoming an associate in 2007, Dr. Fujiu was a patent agent with the firm since December 2000. His practice includes patent prosecution, patent infringement and validity analysis, and litigation support. His areas of technical expertise are optics, optical materials, piezoelectric and dielectric materials, semiconductor devices and processing, scanning probe technologies, and carbon nanotube technologies. Dr. Fujiu is a Japanese native and communicates daily with Japanese clients in Japanese.

Dr. Fujiu received his B.S. in chemistry from University of Tokyo in 1979 under the guidance of Professor Kenzi Tamaru and received his Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State University in 1988 under the guidance of Professor Gary L. Messing. He attended The Catholic University of America as an evening law student while working for the firm, and received J.D., cum laude, in 2007.

From April 1979 to March 2000, Dr. Fujiu worked for Nikon Corporation first as an engineer and later as a manager of a research laboratory. While with Nikon, he spent three years at Penn State and two years at Nikon Research Corporation of America in Belmont, California.
