Chris Eide is an associate in the Palo Alto office of Morrison & Foerster LLP. Mr. Eide’s practice concentrates on domestic and international patent prosecution, intellectual property strategic planning, technology licensing, and technology litigation support. Additionally, he provides intellectual property support and analysis for clients involved in public offerings, financings, mergers and acquisitions, and other related transactions. Mr. Eide handles patent prosecution and related counseling and opinion matters in a wide range of high technology fields, including data storage systems (including magnetic, optical, and holographic), Internet and software applications, networking, semiconductor processing and processing equipment, circuit designs, integrated circuit packaging, MEMS devices, and medical devices.

Mr. Eide obtained his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 2001. While in law school, Mr. Eide served as an associate editor for the Michigan Telecommunications and Technology Law Review , and was a member of the Intellectual Property Student Association. He also worked as a graduate student instructor in the University of Michigan physics department where he taught undergraduate laboratory courses in mechanics and electromagnetism. Mr. Eide received a B.S. in Physics from the University of Washington with departmental honors. While obtaining his undergraduate degree he worked as a research assistant in a low-temperature laboratory where he received the Mary Gates Endowment Award for his studies of quantum mono-layers.

Mr. Eide is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the California State Bar. He is also actively involved in several local and national intellectual property and patent law organizations.
