Mr. Ware is an associate in the Litigation Department of the San Francisco office of Morrison & Foerster LLP. His practice focuses on commercial litigation and international arbitration.

Mr. Ware has assisted in representing clients in complex commercial disputes in state and federal court, and before international arbitral tribunals under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Ware earned his B.A. in International Relations, Phi Beta Kappa, from Johns Hopkins University in 2001, his M.A. in International Affairs, with distinction, from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in 2002, and his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2005, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and an editor for the Columbia Law Review. While in law school, Mr. Ware externed for the Honorable Sonia Sotomayor of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Mr. Ware is proficient in Mandarin Chinese.

Representative Matters

  • Assisted in representing a major U.S. bank in a breach of contract action in federal court. Secured several preliminary injunctions on behalf of the client, each of which was upheld on appeal.
  • Assisted in representing a Brazilian company in a $1 billion ICC arbitration in Paris arising from a complex contractual dispute. Settled on favorable terms after a 3-week hearing on the merits in Paris.
  • Argued and won Blake v. Carbone, in which the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, breaking with other Circuits, reversed a Board of Immigration Appeals rule denying eligibility for discretionary relief from deportation.
