Description:
The year 2007 saw significant changes in employment law on the federal and state levels. Particularly, the Maryland legislature
strengthened the remedies available under the Maryland Fair Employment Practices Act, and the California Supreme Court issued
six significant opinions, mostly in the wage and hour arena, including the seminal Murphy v. Kenneth Cole decision, which tripled employers’ potential liability for meal and rest period violations. Morrison & Foerster LLP will
host a series of briefings to discuss these and other developments, including our annual review of legislative activities,
and their impact on employers with operations in the Washington DC area and in California.
