Overview
Investment in the Cleantech sector is moving fast. In 2007, Cleantech firms received $5.18 billion in venture capital across
the United States and Europe. Investors in the first two quarters of 2008 have deployed $3.1 billion already. Many investment
banks are committing staff expertise and investment to Cleantech. Despite current economic challenges, Cleantech investing
remains strong across quarterly fluctuations.
CORE Colorado, sponsored by Morrison & Foerster invites you to a panel of Cleantech investors, industry experts and legal practitioners -
including the Corporate, Energy, Land Use and Intellectual Property / Patent practice groups. Together these leaders in the
field will address the opportunities for Cleantech investment.
Discussion Topics
The discussion will focus on five of the fastest-moving Cleantech investment areas–carbon sequestration, cellulosic and algae-based
biofuels, solar (photovoltaic and concentrating solar power), water and energy efficiency/energy intelligence. Specific topics
will include:
- Investment trends for 2008 and 2009
- Market segment growth and change
- Leveraging current and emerging regulations and incentives for maximizing return on Cleantech investments
- Protecting and managing intellectual property
- Facilitating strategic financial transactions and relationships
