Terry Moore, Executive Director, Morrison & Foerster Venture Network
Mr. Moore is the Executive Director of the Morrison & Foerster Venture Network. He has over 27 years of experience successfully
investing, founding, leading and advising early-stage and emerging growth companies and organizations in the technology and
life science industries. Mr. Moore has been a venture capitalist, the CEO of three companies, and has founded and served on
the Boards of numerous companies. Mr. Moore is the Chairman and Founder of The VC Roundtable, a private, invitation-only organization
for venture capitalists, corporate strategic investors, and the leadership of angel organizations in Southern California.
Mr. Moore has a BS in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Florida, an MBA in Venture Management and Marketing
from the University of San Diego, and has successfully completed a post-graduate entrepreneurship program at University of
California San Diego CONNECT.
Dr. Kenneth W. Rind, Senior Advisor: Investment Banking, Caris & Company
Dr. Rind joined Caris in June 2007 with an extensive background as a distinguished venture capitalist and corporate financier.
He is also considered the father of Corporate Strategic Investing. He is now focused on assisting San Diego healthcare companies.
Dr. Rind has been an investment banking/venture capital partner at Oppenheimer, a corporate development executive/strategic
investor at Xerox, an advisor on public and private technology investments to the Rockefeller family (pre-Venrock), the portfolio
manager of a top performing mutual fund focused on technology (Samson Fund), and a founder of eight venture capital funds.
He has served on the Board of Directors of numerous corporations, including 15 that were public and over 25 more that he assisted
in finding strategic investors/acquirers. Dr. Rind co-founded Oxford Partners, an independent venture capital company that
managed venture capital funds provided by over 25 corporate (strategic) and 20 financially-focused investors and was a predecessor
of Oxford Bioscience.
Dr. Rind was a Founding Director of the National Venture Capital Association; President of the Connecticut Venture Group and
a Director of a Scottish Trust (mutual fund), the first to invest in technology companies world-wide (Baille Gifford). He
is currently a Director of the Venture Investors Association of New York (formerly the NYVCF).
Steve Rowles, Partner, Morrison & Foerster
Mr. Rowles is Chair of the San Diego Corporate Group and Co-Chair of the firm-wide Private Equity and Fund Formation Group.
He has over 20 years experience as corporate counsel to public and private companies and the venture funds that invest in
those companies. Mr. Rowles has extensive industry experience in both the technology and life sciences arenas.
