George Zhao is an associate in the Beijing office of Morrison & Foerster. Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Mr. Zhao worked for a well-known international law firm in Hong Kong and Beijing. His practice focuses on advising multinational corporations with respect to complex China-related transactions, M&A, private equity investments, securities and regulatory and compliance matters. He has particular experience advising clients in infrastructure, mining, real estate, oil & natural gas, financial services, energy, electronics, automobile, biochemical, pharmaceutical, telecommunications, media and other industries. He has assisted clients with the establishment of various types of onshore and offshore investment vehicles, asset and equity acquisitions of state-owned enterprises, listing and strategic acquisitions of large Chinese entities, cross-border transactions, and intellectual property.

Prior to moving to China, Mr. Zhao worked for an international law firm in Washington DC where he advised clients in the areas of US corporate and securities law, investment management, banking and finance, mutual fund reorganization, securities enforcement, derivatives, insurance and international trade.

Mr. Zhao graduated from China’s Shandong Normal University and Shandong University, Florida International University and State University of New York at Buffalo. Mr. Zhao speaks fluent English and Mandarin Chinese. He is admitted to practice in Maryland, New York, Washington, D.C., and is a Registered Foreign Lawyer in China.
