A MoFo China team, led by Hong Kong partner Robert Woll, represented Cathay Financial Holding Co Ltd., Taiwan's leading financial group, in its recent $500 million equity offering. The deal was the largest Taiwan GDR offering of 2004.

Prior to this recent offering, Morrison & Foerster was also Cathay Financial's international counsel in their $522 million offering of Global Depositary Shares (GDS) listed in Luxembourg (also underwritten by JP Morgan Securities) in 2003. This offering was recognized by Asiamoney magazine and given the "Best Equity Deal of the Year award" for 2003.
