Morrison & Foerster assisted Newell Rubbermaid's Sanford division in acquiring the assets of a Taiwanese-owned manufacturing facility in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, in Southern China. Newell intends to integrate this facility into the manufacturing network of its Sanford Division (Office Products segment) with a view to expanding production of Sharpie markers, Accent highlighters and other writing instruments for worldwide distribution. This is Newell's first M&A deal in China.
