Morrison & Foerster represented Golden Harvest Entertainment, one of the biggest film distributors in South-East Asia and Hong Kong's oldest film makers which fostered action heroes such as Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan, in a US$5 million investment in Golden Harvest Entertainment by Typhoon Music, a company jointly owned by EMI, the world's second largest music group and Norman Cheng, EMI Music South-East Asia's chairman and CEO. Golden Harvest Entertainment will also set up a joint venture with Typhoon Music and local entertainment company Abba Movies to fund the production of Chinese language films, following China's relaxation of import quotas on Chinese language films produced in Hong Kong.
The Morrison & Foerster team was led by Hong Kong office partner Tien-yo Chao.
