Paul Claydon is a U.K. qualified Partner in the London office of Morrison & Foerster and head of that office’s Corporate Group.
Mr. Claydon has more than 17 years of experience in the provision of advice on IPOs and other securities issues, private equity transactions and mergers & acquisitions. His clients include corporates, private equity funds and investment banks. Mr. Claydon’s practice covers a range of industries and he has particular expertise in advising on deals in the Pharmaceutical and Life Science industries.
Mr. Claydon’s recent transactions include advising Songbird Estates plc on its successful £1.7 billion public takeover of Canary Wharf Group plc’s, advising Ardana plc on its IPO on the UK Official List and related fundraising, and advising Merlin Biosciences and the other institutional investors on the sale of Cambridge Biotechnology Limited to Biovitrum.
Mr. Claydon is a frequent speaker and writer on a range of corporate law topics. Recent topics include “Growth and Exit Strategies for Life Science VC Backed Companies” and “Venture Capital Investment in the European Life Sciences Industry”.
Mr. Claydon joined Morrison & Foerster in 2005 from the London office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges. He is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales, and graduated from Leicester University with an LLB in 1986 and from Nottingham Law School with an LSF in 1987.
