Mr. Wiggert joined Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco office in 1995, and has been a partner in the London office since 2000.
Mr. Wiggert engages in a broad-based corporate transactional practice, with special emphasis on cross-border financings, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity and securities. His securities experience includes representations of both companies and investors in growth-stage and public equity offerings and public and private debt placements (including Rule 144A, Regulation S and SEC-registered offerings). He represents a number of European hedge funds in their investments in U.S. companies. He also has particular expertise counselling investors and funds with respect to their U.S. securities and investment company responsibilities.
In his M&A practice Mr. Wiggert has represented purchasers and sellers of businesses in a variety of industries, recently advising Acambis plc on the sale of Berna Products, Corp. to Crucell N.V.
Mr. Wiggert regularly authors articles on corporate finance matters, most recently publishing a piece on the SEC liberalization of rules for deregistration of Foreign Private Issuers in “Derivatives: Financial Products Report”.
Mr. Wiggert graduated, cum laude , from Harvard Law School in 1993, where he served as Senior Editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy and as a Teaching Fellow in Economics to first-year undergraduates. A member of Phi Beta Kappa, Mr. Wiggert received his A.B. degree in Economics, magna cum laude , from Columbia University.
Mr. Wiggert is a member of the California and New York State bars and the American Bar Association. He is also a Registered Foreign Lawyer with the Law Society of England and Wales.
