Intellectual Property Litigation and Arbitration
Represented Sega Corporation in U.S. District Court, in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, before the Japan Commercial Arbitration Association, and before JAMS in Los Angeles and San Francisco in a global dispute over the rights to the company's intellectual property.

Patent Litigation
Lead the firm's litigation team on behalf of Minolta in Pitney Bowes Inc. v. Minolta Co. (laser printing technology) and  Sanyo in Semiconductor Energy Laboratory Co. v. Sanyo Electric Co. (low temperature polysilicon thin film transistors). Represented Emulex in several patent infringement actions involving storage area network switching technology and represented Fujitsu in a patent infringement action involving notebook computers.

Patent License Negotiations
Lead the firm's patent licensing team on behalf of Konica Minolta in its patent cross-license negotiations with Xerox and Fuji Xerox in the field of business equipment technology.

Court of Arbitration for Sport
Represented U.S. Olympic gymnast Paul Hamm before the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland, the world's highest court for resolving sports disputes, in the highly publicized dispute over the gold medal won by Mr. Hamm in the men's individual all-around event in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. A panel of three CAS arbitrators rejected the appeal filed by the bronze medalist, Korean gymnast Yang Tae Young, and held unanimously that Mr. Hamm should keep his gold medal.
