Shozo Iwasaki is an Of Counsel in the Litigation Department of the Tokyo office of Morrison & Foerster LLP. Mr. Iwasaki received his B.S. degree in Physics from Yamaguchi University in 1982, his M.S. degree in Physics from Okayama University in 1984 and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2002, where he was elected to a member of Order of the Coif, a national legal honorary society.

Before attending law school, he was a manager of Licensing Department of Matsushita Electric Industrial, Co., Ltd.’s Intellectual Property Section and handled a variety of intellectual property related matters, including US patent litigation, patent license negotiations and other intellectual property related aspects of business transactions, such as strategic alliances and JV establishments. His responsible areas of business at Matsushita included semiconductor devices, other electronics components, communications (including cellular technologies and fax machines), display devices and batteries. He was a co-editor of Matsushita New Business Review Magazine, a company quarterly magazine, in 1998 - 1999 and a Matsushita representative on the International Affairs Committee of the Japan Intellectual Property Association in 1994 - 1996.
