Kara M. Kraman is an attorney in Morrison & Foerster’s State and Local Taxation Group in the New York City office. Her practice focuses on state and local tax controversies including, among other things, controversies involving corporate income and franchise taxes, sales and use taxes, bank taxes, and personal income taxes.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Kraman practiced in the area of state and local taxation at another firm, specializing in private aviation transactions. Ms. Kraman also has several years of practice experience in the areas of federal taxation and corporate planning.
Ms. Kraman is a contributing author of the treatise Tax Planning for Corporations and Shareholders, and an update author of White, New York Business Entities and Bender's Tax Return Manual. She is also the author of several articles on state and local tax issues.
Ms. Kraman received her J.D. from William & Mary Law School and her LL.M. in Taxation from New York University Law School. Ms. Kraman graduated from Georgetown University with a B.A. in Economics.
