Morrison & Foerster’s Jackie Liu and Jana Mansour have been named 2013 Rising Stars by Law360. According to Law360, Rising Star honorees are lawyers under the age of 40 whose legal accomplishments in major litigation or transactions belie their age.
Ms. Liu, a partner in firm’s San Francisco office, was one of five lawyers nationwide named a Mergers & Acquisitions Rising Star. She was cited by the publication for helping “handle the largest U.S. merger of 2012 – SoftBank Corp.’s $20 billion acquisition of a 70 percent interest in Sprint Nextel Corp. – while simultaneously working two other major deals.”
Mr. Mansour, a partner in the firm's New York office, was one of five lawyers nationwide named a Project Finance Rising Star. He was cited by the publication for having “a zest for inking deals with a broad social impact, representing Mitsui & Co. Ltd. in a $2 billion Canadian wind farm project and Toshiba Corp. in nuclear projects in Texas and Finland” and for developing “an expertise in sealing multibillion- and multimillion-dollar energy projects.”
This year Law360 editors reviewed close to 1000 nominees to arrive at the list of 112 lawyers spanning 23 practice areas.
