Melody He-Chen is a partner resident in Morrison & Foerster’s Hong Kong office. Ms. He-Chen has extensive experience advising both investment banks and corporations on capital markets and corporate matters in Asia and the United States, with a focus on securities offerings, private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border joint ventures and financings. Ms. He-Chen has broad sector experience which includes financial services, automotive, natural resources, consumer, telecommunications, insurance, industrials, retail and real estate.
Ms. He-Chen has worked on numerous equity capital markets transactions involving Chinese corporates and other companies, including global offerings and listings on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, SEC registered IPOs, secondary offerings, rights issues and share placings. Her debt capital market practice covers a broad range of products, including investment grade bonds, high yield debt, dim sum bonds, RMB denominated bonds and equity-linked products such as convertible bonds.
Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Ms. He-Chen was a partner at the Hong Kong office of a leading international law firm, where she had worked for nearly six years. She had also worked in the New York office of a leading U.S. law firm for more than four years.
Ms. He-Chen received her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law, where she was Order of the Coif and associate editor of the Rutgers Computer and Technology Law Journal. She received her LL.M. from University of California-Berkeley, School of Law Boalt Hall and her LL.B from Shenzhen University School of Law.
Ms. He-Chen is admitted in New York, California and China. She is a native speaker of both Mandarin and Cantonese and is fluent in English.
