The Morrison & Foerster Foundation's contributions are made through a number of giving programs. We focus on organizations that either serve disadvantaged children and youth or provide free legal services to persons of limited means. We do so by supporting direct service organizations and fellowship and scholarship programs that address these needs in the communities in which the firm has offices. We also contribute to charitable causes concerning health, food and shelter, and the arts; many of those gifts target local youth education and outreach programs, as well.
In recent years, we have announced several special grants programs, totaling $3.25 million, focused on improving the lives of disadvantaged youth. These donations are in addition to our community grants and the fellowships and scholarships we sponsor. We have also raised and distributed funds to support disaster relief efforts. In addition, the Foundation offers several matching gift programs to Morrison & Foerster personnel.
