Morrison & Foerster LLP/Ito & Mitomi was nominated for four awards and took home the Deal of the Year Award in the IT/Telecommunications category at the recent second annual Asian Legal Business (ALB) Japan Law Awards 2006 held in Tokyo on June 15, 2006. The Awards recognize the top deals, deal teams and dealmakers in Japan over the last year. Deals are assessed on the basis of financial value, structure and complexity, number of parties and jurisdictions involved, timeframe for completion and overall significance to the market. Deal teams are recognized for their outstanding client service and ability to combine extensive and creative analysis with astute judgment so as to provide their clients with a competitive edge.

IT/Telecommunications Deal of the Year - Jupiter Telecommunications global equity offering
for our role as counsel to the underwriters on the Japanese law aspects of Jupiter Telecommunication's global offering of shares in its initial listing on the Jasdaq Securities Exchange. The transaction team was led by I&M partner Fuyuo Mitomi and included partner Saori Nakamura and associate Hisateru Goda.
