Morrison & Foerster Trial Attorney Chuck Patterson Appointed to The National Judicial College Board of Visitors

Prestigious Board Helps Provide Guidance in Furthering Judicial Education

 


Los Angeles, February 23, 2006Charles "Chuck" E. Patterson, partner in the litigation department of the international law firm of Morrison & Foerster LLP, has been appointed to The National Judicial College Board of Visitors.  As a Board member, Mr. Patterson will assist in assessing and delivering judges the highest level of education available nationwide and throughout the world.  The Board is also charged with creating solutions for problems facing the industry, making a meaningful difference in the administration of justice and contributing resources that will leave a long-lasting impact on the justice system and on society.

Mr. Patterson commented: "I am honored to help The National Judicial College make a positive difference in the work and learning environment for judges.  I believe my years of experience as a trial lawyer working with judges on a regular basis allows me to meaningfully contribute to this well respected Board."

Mr. Patterson has extensive experience in complex litigation and has tried over 100 cases to a verdict before a jury and over 30 civil and criminal cases to the court.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a Diplomat of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

Mr. Patterson has lectured on trial practice subjects for local and state bar associations, the American Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the International Association of Defense Counsel and the California Bankers Association.  He has published in various publications and has authored a Chapter in both Business and Commercial Litigation in Federal Courts and Successful Partnering Between Inside and Outside Counsel, both published by West Publishing. Mr. Patterson served as a U.S. Marine Corps Officer in the Republic of Vietnam in 1967 and 1968.
