When introduced four years ago, the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive created sweeping changes to the provision of investment services and financial instruments were provided to customers in Europe.
A subsequent review of MiFID and its effect on financial markets had long been promised by the European Commission, but the overhaul now proposed in the draft MiFID II legislative package goes far beyond what could have been predicted pre-financial crisis.
This seminar will discuss the main changes proposed by the MiFID II package, how they interact with other, related European and international initiatives and the impact that such changes will have on financial markets, services and products in Europe.
Topics to be discussed will include:
- Organised trading facilities
- Pre and post-trade transparency
- Transaction reporting
- Product intervention
- Investor protection
- Interaction with EMIR and other European and international initiatives
