Experts Rip Ga.’s Voting System in Election Machine Trial
David Cross was featured in Law360’s coverage of the latest evidentiary hearing in Curling et al. v. Raffensperger et al., where a handful of Georgia voters and the Coalition for Good Governance – represented by a Morrison & Foerster pro bono team – argued that Georgia’s faulty electronic voting system is vulnerable to hackers, miscounts votes, and fails the constitutional standard of being transparent, fair, accurate, and verifiable.
“The solution we’re proposing is very simple,” David told U.S. District Judge Amy Totenberg. “Hand the voter a paper ballot and a pen, and from there everything that happens is the same.”
In addition to David, the Morrison & Foerster team representing the voters also includes John Carlin, Lyle Hedgecock, Mary Kaiser, Robert Manoso, and Veronica Ascarrunz.
