Partners David Cross and Rob Manoso were honored at the 2024 Concurrences Antitrust Writing Awards under the “Best Business Articles” in the “Procedure” category.
Their article, titled, “How To Handle Experts Like An Expert In Antitrust Trials,” was written for Law360 and discussed the increasing focus on experts by the courts in antitrust cases, the critical importance of effective and impactful expert testimony, and how lawyers can avoid the mistakes that can turn an expert into a liability rather than an asset.
“Experts can make or break an antitrust case at trial,” Cross and Manoso wrote. “They can have an outsized influence on how jurors perceive not only the issues and the facts, but also the lawyers and their clients who sponsored the experts.”
Morrison Foerster’s Global Antitrust Law practice handles cutting-edge competition matters on U.S. and international competition issues. The team is exceptionally strong in representing the world’s leading companies in high-stakes litigation cases – from motion to dismiss to trial to appeal.
The Antitrust Writing Awards “promote competition scholarship and contribute to competition advocacy” by selecting the “best antitrust writings published in the past year.” The winning pieces are chosen from a pool of more than 1,200 articles by a jury composed of 60 leading antitrust enforcers, academics and counsel, who also consider votes made by readers on the awards website.
